Association of Kerala Veterinarians in North America (AKVNA) was conceived in July 2000 in Detroit, Michigan.  AKVNA aims at opening communication channels among all Veterinarians of Kerala origin in North America, contribute to the members, and also promoting veterinary education in Kerala, India.

Dear AKVNA Members, USA and Canada,

 

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for everything we have accomplished together. It has been a testament to our strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our shared goals. We have faced challenges head-on and celebrated numerous successes. One major milestone, we are now a non-profit. It’s official. We are under the (IRC) Section 501(c)&3) and all that goes along with it. 

 

We are happy to announce the details of our AKVNA Silver Jubilee meet 2025 at Washington DC on the weekend of May 24th to 25th, 2025.

This year it is going to be a 2-day event.

Day 1- 5/24/25, Saturday-

Capitol River (Guided) Cruise on the Potomac River- a two-hour Cruise. Starts at 6pm.

Beer & Wine, Sodas, Fruit Juice & Water are provided on board, to purchase.

PRIVATE CHARTERS | Washington | Capitol River Cruises.  Please expect more information on this. We would need an RSVP for this event.

 

Day 2- 5/25/25, Sunday- Silver Jubilee Event at Holiday Inn, Dulles Airport, 45425 Holiday Drive, Sterling, VA 20166. We have secured One bed King rooms and 2 bed Queen rooms at discounted rates of $149.00 plus tax with breakfast for 2 included. If more than 2, inform the reception at check-in and they will add an additional breakfast.

Booking starts now!! We have also secured a Ballroom with a stage, audio, dance floor, banquet tables and furnishings etc. for our evening Annual Meet, expected to start by 5pm. Please send an email to AKVNA.DC[at]gmail.com for the hotel link and discounted pricing.

As AKVNA proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, the Editorial board is thrilled to announce the call for submissions for our annual magazine, Global Vet Times.

 

We invite all members of our community and their families to contribute their creative works, insights and experiences. We are open to a diverse range of submissions, including but not limited to,

  • Creative Pieces - Story, Poetry, Photography, Artwork 

  • Perspectives - Opinion pieces, Book Reviews, Film Reviews, Career Guidance

  • Experiences - Personal/Professional Stories, Achievements,Travelogues

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Format: Word or Google Doc

  • Language: English or Malayalam

  • Deadline: March 23rd, 2025
